Dodgers Land Trio from White Sox in Three-way Deal

It turns out the Dodgers are in fact capable of making a transaction this offseason. The Dodgers have made a three-team trade with the Reds and White Sox with Todd Frazier as the headline name in the deal, going from Cincinnati to Chicago.

From Reds to White Sox:
Todd Frazier, 3B

From Dodgers to Reds:
No. 4 Jose Peraza, 2B
No. 13 Scott Schebler, OF
NR Brandon Dixon, 2B

From White Sox to Dodgers:
No. 3 Frankie Montas, RHP
No. 5 Micah Johnson, 2B
No. 14 Trayce Thompson, OF

The Dodgers received pitcher Frankie Montas, second baseman Micah Johnson and outfielder Trayce Thompson from the White Sox. The Reds got Jose Peraza, Scott Schebler and Brandon Dixon from the Dodgers.

Peraza was rated No. 6 and Schebler the No. 10 prospect in the Dodgers system by our David Hood this offseason.

At first glance, Montas is the big get here for the Dodgers, a potentially huge upside arm in the bullpen. He was hitting 100 mph in the 2015 Futures Game in July.

Thompson, the son of former Lakers center Mychal Thompson and brother of Warriors guard Klay Thompson, gives the Dodgers a true center fielder as outfield depth, and in Johnson a probably lesser version of Peraza as infield depth. More info on the parties involved shortly.

There are almost certainly more moves coming, but that's where the Dodgers are for the moment.

The Dodgers had 39 players on the 40-man roster, so this trade - adding three players, losing two from the 40-man - fills it up.
